The Nile, lifeblood of Egypt. The Magic of a Nile Sail.

Having cruised the Nile by boat on numerous occasions, I'd like to share some insights on the different cruise options available.

An ancient Egyptian proverb says that whoever drinks from the waters of the Nile will

always return to it.

Classic Cruise(Love Boat)

  • Cruise ship with 50-150 passengers

  • 3 or 4 nights

  • Route: Aswan - Luxor or Luxor - Aswan

  • Stops: Temple of Kom Ombo, Temple of Edfu (or Esna)

  • Price: $400-1000 USD

Pros: Amenities and activities (pools, gym, entertainment). Potentially lower cost, social atmosphere

Cons: Limited flexibility as the itinerary revolves around the ship's docking schedule

Some thoughts: The ship might spend a significant portion of time docked, functioning more like a floating hotel with excursions planned around the anchorages

Before You Book: Inquire about transportation to excursion sites, availability of a guide, and entry tickets.
